Incoming Freshman Pegues Scholarships
The application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarships serves as the application for all scholarships available at LSU for entering freshman including college and departmental awards. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and financial need. Students should complete the application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarships by November 15th of their high school senior year for full scholarship consideration. Eligibility for Scholarships:
- To be eligible for a college scholarship, new freshmen students must have completed the LSU application for admission, have sent at least one set of ACT or SAT scores to LSU, and have sent their current high school transcript to LSU by November 15th.
- Students are required to indicate Engineering as their intended major on the Admissions application.
- Students who plan to major in engineering will be ranked by the following formula:
30% Math ACT +30% Science ACT + 40% Academic GPA.
SAT scores will also be considered. Math and science scores must be from the same test.
Pegues Scholarship Requirements:
- The student must be an Engineering Major and a full time student (minimum 12 hours per semester).
- These scholarships are $800/year ( $400.00 per semester) for the freshman year. The number of scholarships varies each year depending on availability of funding.
- If the student continues to follow an engineering curriculum, a recipient can maintain the scholarship for a total of four years (renewable based on student's grades and availability of funding) and the amount can be increased.
LSU S-STEM: ENG2 Scholars for Success Incoming Freshmen Scholarship is a 3-year award based on supporting academically talented full-time undergraduate engineering/construction management students of diverse backgrounds who demonstrate a need for additional financial assistance. The 2009 deadline has been extended to July 17th.
