Fall 2009 FE Exam Information

Important! Instructions for applying for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam have changed!  Please review the information for the October 24, 2009 EXAM below and follow the check list:


Senior Undergraduate Engineering Students: (Only students graduating in December 2009, May or August 2010)

  • Complete the  FE Undergraduate Seniors Only LAPELS application and turn in the application to the College of Engineering Dean's Office (3304 Patrick F. Taylor) by Friday, August 28. 
  • Complete the ELSES (Engineering and Land Surveying Exam Service) registration form and pay fees at www.els-examreg.org by Friday, September 4th. 

Note: Do not register with ELSES until you have submitted the LAPELS application.

Fees remitted to ELSES will not be refunded


Graduate Engineering Students: (ONLY students enrolled in graduate engineering programs)

  • Complete the FE Graduate Students Only LAPELS application by Friday, August 28th and mail to LAPELS • 9643 Brookline Avenue Suite 121 • Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809-1433
  • Send, with your application, transcripts from all institutions attended and a current LSU transcript to LAPELS.
  • Complete the ELSES (Engineering and Land Surveying Exam Service) registration form and pay fees at www.els-examreg.org by Friday, September 4th. 

Your application will be reviewed by the LAPELS board on September 21-22.  Due to the late date of the board's meeting, if you are not approved for the exam, your fees will be fully refunded.


For all Applicants:

  1. Admission Authorization Packages will be mailed to candidates 2-3 weeks prior to exam. Please note: candidates MUST bring their admissions authorization notice and a government issued photographic ID card on the day of the exam.  Student ID cards are NOT acceptable for admission.  Any candidates who have not received their admission package two weeks before the exam date should call 1-877-536-7729 immediately to request another package.
  2. LAPELS representatives will be at LSU on Wednesday, August 26th from noon - 4:00 p.m. and at the first FE review session that evening at 6:oo p.m.  Representatives at this time will register undergraduate students, answer questions and distribute FE review manuals.  Please make an effort to stop by and visit. 
  3. Free download of the FE Reference Handbook is available at www.ncees.org/exams/study_materials/.

 


Notice for Recent Graduates:

Anyone who is not enrolled as a graduate engineering student must submit the Engineering Intern (Non-Student) application to the Louisiana Board with the appropriate fee.  This form can be downloaded from the LAPELS website at www.lapels.com.
