Announcing the creation of a distinguished professorship, the LA Contractors' Educational Trust Fund was recognized by the LSU Foundation as a member of the Laureate Society for their leadership role in supporting the Construction Management program in the LSU College of Engineering.

The LSU Foundation Laureate Society was created to recognize individual, couple, and organizational lifetime giving to the academic enterprise of LSU exclusively through the LSU Foundation. The Contractors' Educational Trust Fund Professorship for Applied Professional Ethics in Construction Management in the College of Engineering is the third LSU professorship created by the LA Contractors' Educational Trust Fund and the support of Vic Weston, treasurer, has made this gift a reality.

"It is a true pleasure to see recognition of the Contractors' Educational Trust Fund," said LSU College of Engineering Dean Rick Koubek. "Under the leadership of Mr. Vic Weston this gift has allowed LSU's Construction Management program to flourish and provide the very best in educational experiences for our students in order that they may be well-prepared to enter the construction industry as professional construction managers."

The recognition event occurred at the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. The LA Contractors' Educational Trust Fund (LA CETF) is funded through the fines imposed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors to contractors' violations inside of Louisiana. These professorships are aimed towards Applied Professional Ethics. CETF is a private board whose primary mission is to identify and fund educational programs that support the goals of the Louisiana construction industry. CETF was created by the LA Associated General Contractors (LAGC), through the state Licensing Board for Contractors.

Duncan W. Kinchen, associate professor, currently holds the Contractors' Educational Trust Fund Professorship for Applied Professional Ethics in Construction Management.

The tradition of excellence in the LSU College of Engineering is continuous from commencement to commencement. As the alma mater for more than half of engineering and construction management graduates in the state of Louisiana, the LSU College of Engineering demands the best from its students in order to prepare them to continue building this great state.
