ECE Doctoral Student Paper Selected as IEEE Competition Finalist

August 2, 2009

  • ECE doctoral student Yao Xu

ECE doctoral student Yao Xu has been selected among 12 finalists for the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) Student Paper Competition. Xu's research paper entitled, "A Model of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Interconnects," will be presented at the 52nd IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, August 2-5, 2009, in Cancun, Mexico. This year 478 paper submissions were accepted from all over the world. 290 papers were selected for presentation in lecture and poster sessions and only 12 were selected under the Student Paper Competition. Xu's research is being conducted under the direction of major professor Ashok Srivastava.

IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. Originally an acronym for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., today, the organization's scope of interest has expanded into so many related fields that it is simply referred to by the letters IEEE. The IEEE CAS conference is the oldest such conference in the organization's history.
