April 29, 2008
Shuangqing Wei, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, has been selected to receive one of 11 Economic Development Assistantships for 2008-09. Sponsored by the Louisiana Board of Regents, EDAs are important for recruiting superior graduate students who demonstrate their study has a direct impact on the economic development of Louisiana. The EDA carries a stipend of $25,000 annually. Under the supervision of Wei, the selected student will research wireless physical layer security issues such as anti-jamming and wiretapping, a concern which is becoming increasingly critical in wireless networks.
