April 5, 2008

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, the LSU College of Engineering hosted its annual crawfish boil at the Ione Burden Research Center on Essen Lane. College faculty, staff, and family members came out to enjoy boiled crawfish, hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, and red beans and rice.

Everyone seemed to enjoy this year’s crawfish boil. “It’s always nice to see everyone having a good time outside of the office again. But maybe people weren’t as hungry this year—we actually had some leftovers,” kidded Margaret Brewer, event coordinator.

Well over 200 College faculty and staff attended this year’s crawfish boil, marking the event as another huge success. It took over 1300 pounds of crawfish to feed our hungry Tigers, but everyone seemed to have a wonderful time, and no Tigers went home hungry. Special thanks to Dean Zaki Bassiouni for hosting the crawfish boil, as well as to Margaret Brewer for organizing the successful event.
