Engineering Faculty Selected for Awards

Three College of Engineering faculty have been selected for the Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award. They are Mark Rabalais, Instructor in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department; Dorel Moldovan, Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department; and Frank Tsung-Chen Tsai, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
Mark Rabalais earned his Masters of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, and his areas of specialization include use of plasmas in semiconductor processing and semiconductor device theory. Dorel Moldovan earned his PhD from West Virginia University. He specializes in atomistic and mesoscale materials modeling and simulations, thin films, and interfacial materials. Frank Tsung-Chen Tsai earned his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his areas of specialization include: groundwater hydrology/hydraulics, contaminant fate and transport in subsurface, inverse problems, aquifer heterogeneity characterization, geostatistics, and water resources system management.
These engineering faculty, and others, will be honored at the LSU Distinguished Faculty Awards Reception on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center in the Noland LaBorde room from 4 PM until 6 PM.
