John H. Pardue, Elizabeth Howell Stewart Endowed Professor of Engineering, was selected as the recipient of the LSU Distinguished Faculty Award for 2007.  The award recognizes faculty members who have a sustained record of excellence in teaching, research, and service.  The recipient receives a $2,000 permanent salary increase and a commemorative watch from the LSU Alumni Association.

Pardue has produced 60 publications over his 20 years of service to the University.  His recent research involves an analysis approach that may lead to a better prediction of phytoremediation success at hazardous waste sites.

Pardue received his Ph.D. in 1992 from LSU.  His areas of specialization are biological remediation, wetlands, environmental chemistry, fate and transport of containments, and environmental engineering.
