Engineering Professor Receives DEE Certification

W. David Constant, P.E., associate dean for research and graduate studies, LSU College of Engineering, recently became a board-certified Diplomat Environmental Engineer (DEE) by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, only the second professor at LSU to currently hold such an honor.
The DEE title is an internationally recognized credential that is accepted as the hallmark of premier environmental engineers and is awarded to experienced professionals who demonstrate expertise in one or more areas of specialization.
Constant received his Ph.D. in 1984 from LSU and holds the Humphreys T. Turner Endowed Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer and his areas of specialization include transport and fate of hazardous substances, waste site remediation, contaminated sediments, and natural attenuation.
In addition to Constant’s new certification, he remains an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
