The LSU Department of Construction Management received a $300,000 donation from Pulte Homes, Inc., on Tuesday, Oct. 18 th at the Faculty Club. This significant contribution will improve the quality of instruction in one of LSU’s top professional training areas. Their charitable gift will be targeted, specifically, for faculty support within the department, allowing LSU to recruit and retain innovative and motivated faculty.
“We are very happy to be partnering with Pulte Homes to directly impact the students here at LSU,” says Major General USMC (Ret.) William G. Bowdon, President of the LSU Foundation. “Pulte Homes’ generosity will help LSU’s Department of Construction Management and the College of Engineering remain among the top programs in the U.S.,” says Bowdon.
With its CEO, Richard Dugas, an LSU alumnus, Pulte Homes, Inc., a Michigan-based FORTUNE 200 company, operates in 28 states and during its 55 years in existence, the company has constructed over 408,000 homes, has been recognized as an industry leader in customer satisfaction among homebuilders, and is the nation’s largest builder of adult active retirement communities.
While LSU’s Department of Construction Management is focused on providing a comprehensive education for future construction industry professionals, this contribution will no doubt aid in the department’s mission to train its students fully in both technical and managerial skills, and the ethical and professional standards necessary to succeed in this vital industry.
“Contributions such as this one will not only focus on recruiting innovative faculty, but will also provide an opportunity for the College and department to further its advancement of students in their professional and academic lives,” said Dean Zaki Bassiouni.
