ExxonMobil presents LSU College of Engineering with departmental grant

ExxonMobil presented the LSU College of Engineering with a $45,500 departmental grant on Thursday, Nov. 17 th at the Faculty Club on campus. The $81,000 departmental grant, earmarked for LSU, is a portion of the $1.6 million dollars donated by ExxonMobil to 88 other colleges and universities nationwide. The grants were established to benefit higher education, allocating money for various educational purposes including scholarships, field trips, visiting speakers, equipment purchases, student and faculty travel, academic-related activities and educational projects.
“Thanks to our ExxonMobil departmental grant, our faculty and students will be given the opportunity to share their research findings and projects with others both in the nation and abroad, furthering our vision in becoming an institutional leader,” said College of Engineering Dean Zaki Bassiouni.
“ExxonMobil is proud to provide Louisiana State University with this grant to further enhance the excellence of programs that produce such highly skilled students we seek to hire,” added Lloyd Guillory, Head of the LSU Engineering Recruiting effort for ExxonMobil.
