Sixth Annual Engineering Alumni Reunion
September 26, 2008, 7:00 pm
The College of Engineering (CoE) held its Sixth Annual Engineering Alumni Reunion on Friday, September 26, in the Patrick F. Taylor Hall west entrance. Alumni, students and faculty mingled and enjoyed refreshments and jambalaya. There was great interaction between alumni and some of our outstanding students.
Student projects were featured at the east lobby entrance, including:
- Formula SAE
- Concrete Canoe
- Mini Baja
- Steel Bridge
- IEEE Student Robot
- BESO (Biological Engineering Student Organization)
- Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV)
It was a good time to learn about some of the great projects on which our students and faculty are working. The STEM Talent Expansion Program was represented by Summer Dann who informed alumni on how immersion into CoE has changed for underclass students.
Another highlight of the Reunion was various departmental laboratory tours, featuring:
- Geotech, Material Characterization, & Strength Lab (CEE)
- Safety Lab & the Human Factors Lab (CMIE)
- ECE Capstone Lab & the Edwin “Burt” and Norma S. McNeil
- RF/Communications Lab (ECE)
Everyone had a great time and some even received door prizes! Thanks to all who attended. Please help us spread the word about this annual event and tell fellow alumni to join us next year, tentatively scheduled for the Friday of Homecoming Week.
