Diversity Scholarships 

The CoE Office of Diversity Programs is currently accepting applications for several federally funded and corporate sponsored undergraduate scholarships. Generally, students should be sophomores, juniors or seniors, and additional information about each scholarship is provided below. Submit the Diversity Scholarship Application with requested materials. Your Application is active for the academic year. Currently there are not any scholarships available for incoming freshmen for the 2012-2013 academic year. If you have any questions , please contact Sarah Cooley Jones at  diversity@eng.lsu.edu .

Baker Hughes Diversity Scholarship (filled)
  • Open to Engineering majors aligned with Baker Hughes recruiting needs; especially chemical, mechanical & petroleum
  • $1,250  for the 2011-2012 academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
Earl & Maryanne Evans Endowed Scholarship (filled)
  • The award varies and can be up to $4,000 for the 2011-2012 academic year
  • Preference given to female student who are Louisiana residents and Petroleum Engineering majors
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.75
ExxonMobil Scholars Program (filled)
  • Open to Engineering majors aligned with ExxonMobil recruiting needs; especially chemical, electrical, mechanical & petroleum
  • Eligible minorities: African American, American Indian & Hispanic (preferred)
  • $3,000 per academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
Marathon Oil Foundation Minority Scholarship (filled)
  • Open to all Engineering majors
  • Eligible minorities: African American, American Indian & Hispanic (preferred)
  • $1,250 per academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.50 to receive
Patrick F. Taylor Scholarship in Engineering (filled)
  • Open to Petroleum engineering majors and all Engineering majors that support the petroleum industry
  • Past REHAMS participants and under-represent students (preferred)
  • FRESHMEN may apply
  • $3,000 per academic year
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need
S-STEM Scholarships funded by the National Science Foundation - (filled)
  • Open to all Engineering & Construction Management majors
  • $3,500 per academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrated financial need
S-STEM Scholarships BRCC Pathway Scholars funded by the National Science Foundation (filled)
  • Open to all Engineering majors who transferred from Baton Rouge Community College
  • Up to $7,500 per academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrated financial need
Halliburton  (filled)
  • Open to all Engineering majors that support the energy industry
  • Sophomores and Juniors preferred
  •  Award targets underrepresented minorities and first generation students (preferred)
  • $750 per semester ($1,500 for the academic year 2011-2012)
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
Marathon Oil Diversity UG Scholarship (filled)
  • Open to Engineering majors aligned with Marathon recruiting needs: chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical & petroleum
  • $5,000 per academic year
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
NACME/LSU Scholar Program Sponsored by America Styrenics (filled)
  • Open to all Engineering majors
  • African American, American Indian & Hispanic (preferred)
  • $6,000 per academic year
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Sophomore or junior from (listed in preference order) St. James Parish, parishes immediately adjacent to St. James Parish, and Louisiana
Cajun Constructors Award for Diversity in Construction Management (filled)
  • Construction Management majors only
  • Eligible minorities: African American, American Indian & Hispanic (preferred)
  • $2,000 per academic year
  • In good academic standing
  • 2nd semester Freshmen may apply; i.e. 15+ hours credit
