The High School Teacher Engineering Awareness Program (HSTEAP) is a summer experience for high school math and science teachers that is focused on helping teachers gain a better understanding of the field of engineering and assisting teachers in developing curriculum strategies that support and strengthen interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics related fields. Participants will gain resources and hands-on experience with engineering concepts to assist them with integrating these concepts into their high school classrooms.
Participants will be introduced to hands-on engineering design and instrumentation focusing on the Engineering Grand Challenges, alternative energy sources and 21st Century Skills. Past HSTEAP participants have studied topics such as Using Engineering Notebooks, the Design Process, Biofules and Alternative Energy Sources, Sustainable Structures and more!
