Mission:

Facilitate and enhance the College of Engineering's efforts to increase participation and graduation rates of women and minority students (undergraduate and graduate) and recruit and retain high quality women and minority faculty.

Vision:

The College of Engineering will be recognized as providing the best educational experience for women and minorities in Louisiana and the region. LSU's Diversity Programs will be nationally recognized for providing quality programs and support at the K-16 and faculty levels.

Goals:

  1. Increase the pool of women and minority students enrolling in the College of Engineering.
  2. Increase the retention and graduation rates of women and minority students in the College of Engineering.
  3. Enrich the educational experience of all students through recruiting and retaining top women and minority faculty.
  4. Cultivate an environment in the College of Engineering based on inclusiveness and respect, thus, allowing women and minorities to achieve their full potential.
  5. Establish open communication with alumnae, friends of the Women in Engineering Program and Minority Engineering Program and corporate partners to encourage the full participation in and support of the Women in Engineering Program and Minority Engineering Program.
