"Alliances have become an integral part of contemporary strategic thinking." - Fortune Magazine

MEP enjoys the privilege of partnering with key national organizations that are working to address the critical shortfall in the production of minority engineering talent. These strategic relationships provide students with increased, unique employment opportunities and the means to continue their education beyond the bachelor degree.

National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME)

NACME Logo Since 1974, NACME (the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering) has provided leadership and support for the national effort to increase the representation of successful African American, American Indian and Latino women and men in engineering and technology, math- and science-based careers. Louisiana State University is one of 49 NACME partnering institutions working to meet these challenges. In May, the MEP staff attended the annual symposium and partner meeting in McLean Va. For the 2007-2008 academic year, the MEP program provided students with $45,738 in NACME Associate Scholarship support.
