The College of Engineering's Office for Diversity is very fortunate and appreciative of Dow Chemical's gift which when matched by the Louisiana Board of Regents, established the Dow Distinguished Professorship in Engineering Diversity. This gift addresses the growing need to make endowed chair positions more competitive with our peer institutions and to better recruit exceptional faculty members to the institution. This endowment is an effective way to provide financial resources to promising faculty that can be used for start-up packages, salary supplements for summer research, laboratory equipment and graduate student support. The Dow Distinguished Professorship in Engineering Diversity will be awarded to a new or current faculty member in the College of Engineering.
