Overview
LSU recognizes the responsibility and privilege of top universities to participate in furthering the diversity and inclusiveness of the academic cadre and the engineering workforce, and the College of Engineering is committed to taking the lead in the endeavor for diversity. Both the highly successful Pre-College and College programs for underrepresented students are cornerstones of the College of Engineering's response to the challenge of preparing all LSU engineering graduates for success.
The College of Engineering at Louisiana State University enrollment of African-American students exceeds the national average at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. As comparative statistics demonstrate, LSU has achieved near parity with national averages of women enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate engineering programs.
These promising numbers are the result of LSU's ongoing efforts to meet and exceed nationwide standards for diversity. However, important strides remain to be taken toward creating an academic environment in the College of Engineering that fully reflects LSU's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Targeted philanthropy is the most effective way to accelerate progress on these fronts and establish LSU's College of Engineering as both a regional and national leader in diversity.
While we process gifts of all sizes, our focus is on making transformational change (non-endowed funding). Discover how the Office for Diversity gift opportunities benefit our students and faculty.
Should you be interested in making a gift to the Office for Diversity, given today's economic climate, please visit the LSU Foundation Website.
