Message from the Associate Dean

The LSU College of Engineering recognizes the value that diversity (and inclusiveness) brings to not only the educational experience of our students, but to the overall engineering community and its future. The Office for Diversity Programs is fully committed to creating an environment within the College that is welcoming to all students, staff and faculty (see our Mission/Vision statement).
The Office for Diversity Programs offers many programs to engage our current students, staff, faculty and corporate partners in meaningful activities that result in both academic and professional development, cultural competency and an appreciation and awareness of the differing viewpoints we each contribute to any academic and/or professional discussion. We also offer pre-college programs to engage underrepresented women and minorities, parents, teachers and the community in activities and dialogue on the role of engineers in our daily life and the opportunities available in the future.
I invite you to visit our website to learn about our long-standing Minority Engineering Program (MEP) and the newly created Women in Engineering Program (WEP) and faculty recruitment and retention focus. There are many opportunities for you to become involved. Find out how your support can help strengthen LSU's engineering community by visiting our Gift Opportunities page.
