Dean's Scholarship Award (formerly the Dean's Book Award)

To recognize the importance of book writing as a faculty activity, the LSU College of Engineering has instituted the Dean’s Book Award.

An award will be given to each author who satisfies the following criteria:

  • The book must be written while the author is a member of the COE at LSU. This includes new editions (not new printings), and the book may only qualify once.
  • The book must be published by a recognized external publisher.
  • The award will consist of a certificate and a check for $1,000.The award of $1,000 will be prorated in case of multiple authorship; however, only LSU authors are eligible for share of the prorated prize.
  • When the prize is claimed, the author must still be a member of the LSU COE.
  • These rules will apply to books already published which have not received this award.
  • Book chapters and books edited are not eligible.
  • The award is sponsored by the LSU College of Engineering.
  • New autographed copy of the book must be given to the Dean for the College’s collection.
